Web Sites

Having worked with the web since 1999/2000 I've worked on a fair few web sites, some for large companies (when I worked at Fish in a Bottle in 2008 I worked on a site for Framestore, one called Gardener's Click and a site for a government outsourcer which I can't remember the name of). Obviously the web is a dynamic medium and companies change their web sites a lot and other sites close down for other reasons, so a lot of those sites are unfortunately no longer online.

The sites below are ones I've worked on while being self employed. I did all the PHP, JavaScript and ActionScript code, while my business partner worked on the HTML and CSS. These are older sites and may not conform to the same standards as this portfolio site, but they do have some advanced features, such as member areas and Facebook integration.

HTML5 Games Arcade

HTML5 Games Arcade

A pet project of mine which currently makes up a part of this portfolio site. It's an HTML5 Games Arcade built using Angular and CodeIgniter. I've re-used the styling from the main portfolio site.

I'm adding new games and features whenever I get chance and it currently has features such as searching for and rating games (obviously you can play them and browse categories). At some point, I'll re-style it and host it on its own domain.

So what are you waiting for? Go play some games!

The Podge

The Podge

The Podge (http://www.thepodge.co.uk) is an online games developer, mainly utilising Flash Technology. We created many games for various companies, including Armor Games and Cartoon Network.

It's been around since 2010 and was superceded by the other games developer I was invloved in: Ish Games. The site features a members area, with exclusive features such as friends, rewards for playing games, high score tables and exclusive asynchronous multi-player games.

Ish Games

Ish Games

Ish Games was the follow-up to The Podge - for various reasons we decided slim down and rebrand.  Again, as Ish Games we worked on several games for Armor Games and Cartoon Network.  We also ported some games to Steam.

Unfortunately demand for Flash games has dropped off and this is no longer a viable business.  We keep the sites going for our fans and as a portfolio piece.

Prizechinko - Zen Table

Prizechinko

Prizechinko is a Facebook integrated game, with all the features enabled by the Facebook API.  It features a shop where people can spend real money or in-game currency, daily rewards (visit every day and the rewards get bigger), inviting friends, high score system, sharing achievements and more.

I built a whole back-end framework using OO PHP and REST principles.  The client side could be built using any technology available, JavaScript, Unity or Flash.  For Flash games I developed a class that allows access to most API functions with just one or two lines of code, so it's super easy to integrate games in to Facebook.
